Ronne Froman
San Diego Chief Operating Officer

San Diego Mayor Jerry Sanders announced during his campaign that if elected his Chief Operating Officer would be Ronne Froman. Her reputation as a no-nonsense “efficiency expert” proved invaluable during the campaign and she is now using her expertise to transform San Diego’s City Hall
.

In the new administration Froman was initially the City Manager. She was named Chief Operating Officer on January 1, 2006, when San Diego moved to a strong-mayor form of government. She is responsible for streamlining city operations, making city government more accountable, and ensuring that ethics and customer service are the foundation of a new culture at City Hall.

Before taking her position at the City of San Diego, Froman was the CEO of the American Red Cross of San Diego and Imperial Counties. Using her leadership abilities, she helped turn around an organization embroiled in controversy. Prior to joining the American Red Cross in 2003, she was the Chief of Business Operations for the San Diego Unified School District.

Froman is a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral and the former “Navy Mayor of San Diego.” She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the City of San Diego with more than 30 years of service as a Naval Officer. She has received the Department of Defense Distinguished Service Medal, as well as other service and unit awards.

Ronne Froman is putting all of this experience to work helping move San Diego forward.
