Sarah Harder National President, AAUW Elected President of the AAUW in 1985, Sarah Harder has national and international grassroots experience in efforts to improve opportunities for women. She has participated in nationally broadcast discussions and satellite teleconferences linking women in cities across the nation, with experts involved in women s rights. In 1984, Sarah Harder presented Congressional testimony on the Child Care and Higher Education Act. She was a co-designer of "A New Day--Beyond ERA," a catalyst event with coordinating activities in 200 cities. She was a major coordinator for the World Conference to Review and Appraise Achievements of the United Nations Decade for Women held in July 1985, in Nairobi, Kenya.
