June Barrymore Ash Businesswoman, Connoisseur, Philanthropist International Philanthropy Award June Barrymore Ash is a woman of substance, style and generosity. June's longtime management of her real estate properties throughout the United States has given her a business and financial experience which has been to the ultimate benefit of the many non-profit organizations with which she is associated. Her philanthropy is more than financial. In her long career of service, she has undertaken responsibility in a variety of jobs, from stuffing envelopes to serving in positions of leadership. June has been honored by the San Diego Chapter of the American Cancer Society for her years of chairing its Council of Hope and Concours d'Elegance. She was the founding President of the San Diego Chapter of Variety Clubs International. For three years, she served as President of the Social Service League of La Jolla. She has been honored by the Salvation Army as a Woman of Dedication. Over the years, June's community service has benefited many and varied groups, including: Past Board member, Children's Action League; Past Board member, Patrons of the Prado; Board member, Advocates for Classical Music and Chair of the Advocates' annual luncheon; Past Board member, La Jolla Opera League; Honorary Director, La Jolla Historical Society and host of the Society's Annual Christmas Teas at her home in La Jolla; Chair of the fashion shows for the San Diego Symphony Orchestra Association; Chair of three Ascots to raise funds for charities; Chair of the ISID Designers Showcase Home in La Jolla; Chair of the 1998 La Jolla Debutante Ball; Board member, The Country Friends; Chair of the 1st Annual Country Friends Christmas Tea and Chair of Guest Models, Country Friends Fashion Show; and Committee member, Neil Ash U.S.O. Airport Center, San Diego. June is passionate in her hobby of showing and maintaining her classic Rolls-Royce motorcars-the Barrymore collection. She loves touring with other enthusiasts and showing her cars at Benefit Ascots and Concours d'Elegance. She has chaired many of these functions. She shares Neil's interest in their collection of Early California Art. The favorite beneficiaries of June's philanthropy are Animal Welfare Agencies and the Neil Ash U.S.O. Airport Center.
